Finding a Shabbat meal or hosting a Shabbat guest

Are you traveling through and want an opportunity to meet a Jewish family in the Flathead Valley and share Shabbat? Are you hosting a Shabbat dinner here and you would love to open your home to Shabbat guests? Rabbi Francine is a very good matchmaker and is happy to help you practice the mitzvot of celebrating Shabbat and Welcoming Guests/hachnasat orchim. Just sent her a message at rabbi@glacierjc.org.

How to Celebrate Life Cycle Montana

Births:

It is an extraordinary blessing to welcome a baby into your family and into the community of Israel. Rabbi Francine is happy to speak with you about the possibilities for Jewish ceremonies to celebrate the birth of a girl/Simhat Bat, to celebrate the birth of a boy/Brit Milah, to celebrate the adoption of a baby and any other reason to celebrate new life. We do not have a trained mohel in the state at this time. You can fly one in or Rabbi Francine has worked with local pediatricians to do a ritual ceremony in the doctor's office or hospital for the circumcision.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah:

At this time we do not have a multi-leveled education program for children. Rabbi Francine tutors kids one-on-one to help them learn to read Hebrew, explore Jewish prayers and learn about Jewish values and ethics. Ideally, children should start learning as soon as possible. Rabbi Francine will work with a child for a year to prepare for a ceremony celebrating Bar/Bat Mitzvah. If you are interested in discussing the possibilities contact Rabbi Francine.

Weddings:

What better place to get married than the Flathead Valley?! Rabbi Francine would be honored to meet with couples looking to have a Jewish wedding ceremony in the Flathead Valley, or zoom with couples who are choosing the Flathead Valley for their destination wedding. Together we would plan a ceremony that represents Jewish traditions and your unique relationship as a couple. Rabbi Francine is available to speak with couples who are committed to each other and planning to create a Jewish home and family, whether both partners are Jewish or just one partner is Jewish. You can contact her with any questions.

Funerals:

We don’t like to think about it, but when death arrives, Jewish traditions help the grieving care for the deceased and mourn with the support of the community. If you would like more information on funerals in the Flathead Valley or convening a shivah minyan, please contact Rabbi Francine.
